First of all, unzip the downloaded files with an utility like Winzip.

How to change the icon of a shortcut:

  • Select it, click the right button and choose "Properties".
  • Click "Shortcut", choose "Change icon" and "Search".
  • Look for the icon you want (ending with .ico), select it and click "OK".

How to change the icons of My PC, My Documents, Network and Trash:

  • Click the right button in any place of the desktop and choose "Properties".
  • In "Effects" choose the icon you want to change and click on "Change icon".
  • Look for the icon you want (ending with *.ico), select it and click "OK".

How to change the icons associated to any kind of generic file on your computer:

  • In any window of the Windows Explorer, click on the "See" menu and then "Folder options".
  • On "File types" choose the icon you want to change, click "Edit" and then "Edit icon".
  • Look for the icon you want (ending with *.ico), select it and click "OK".

  • You can download a program like Microangelo to make your own icons, change the system folders, arrange icons in libraries, etc...

How to change the icons:

  • Select the icon you would like to use
  • Select File Menu - "Get Info"
  • Click on the icon in the "Get Info" window
  • Select Edit Menu - "Copy"
  • Close the "Get Info" window
  • Select the folder or file you want to apply the icon
  • Select File Menu - "Get Info"
  • Click on the icon in the "Get Info" window
  • Select Edit Menu - "Paste" - That's it!

Note: This method will not work on the Trash icons, you'll need an utility to do that.
